Welcome to the remarkable journey of DNKS, a dedicated NGO located in Phultala, Khulna, Bangladesh. Since its inception in 1993, DNKS has been on a mission to uplift the local community through a range of initiatives that focus on women’s empowerment, handicraft training, medical support, and computer education.
Our Humble Beginnings:
DNKS embarked on its journey in 1993 with a vision to bring positive change to the lives of the people in Phultala. A small group of passionate individuals initiated this effort, driven by their belief in the potential of community development. Over the years, DNKS has grown from a modest grassroots organization into a beacon of hope for the residents of Phultala and its surrounding areas. DNKS is guided by a strong sense of purpose and a set of core values that underpin its work: Women Empowerment: DNKS is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women to take leadership roles in their families and communities. Through education, skill development, and awareness programs, DNKS strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Recognizing the importance of preserving traditional crafts and providing sustainable livelihoods to artisans, DNKS offers handicraft training programs. These programs help local artisans refine their skills and market their products, preserving cultural heritage while generating income. DNKS believes that access to healthcare is a fundamental right. The organization provides healthcare services, organizes health camps, and facilitates access to essential medications for those in need.
Objectives:
1) To organize the target women in to the groups towards building their organizational basis to develop their individuals and collective capacity.
2) To develop their consciousness and awareness, self-respect and self- confidence to make them fit their desired changes through motivation, education and training etc..
3) To rehabilitate the disabled of the society through appropriate supports & service.
4) To help the disadvantaged to improve their quality of life.
5) To make the illiterate men, women and children literate through operating non formal schools.
6) To ensure basic health services of the target women and children towards help improve their health condition and water & sanitation also.
7) To improve technical & credit supports to the poor and poorest group members for the undertaking and operating income generating activities.
8) To develop consciousness and awareness regarding women and child trafficking.
9) To response to the disasters people by calamites.
