Training Program:
DNKS has been maintaining a pool of professional trainers in various fields. Broadly training courses offered by DNKS may be categorized as training on marketable skill i.e occupational training and courses for awareness raising about social issues. DNKS has two residential training centers having modern training aids such as overhead projector, sound system, audio-video aids etc. Depending upon nature of course and type of participants training courses are both residential and field base.
Environmental Sanitation, Hygiene and Water Supply in Rural Area:
In collaboration with the department of Public Health Engineering DNKS carried out the social mobilization activities in Khulna district with a view to create demand for sanitation and improve the personal hygiene at an acceptable level. DNKS conducted a benchmark survey to ascertain the status of sanitation and water supply in the upazila level. In order to gather authentic information a mix of quantitative and qualitative data were gathered using participatory techniques. The survey covered over 25000 (twenty five thousand) households and revealed a dismal picture of the coverage of sanitation.
Education Program:
Adult Education: The side and sector of adult education has been paved to maintain and migrate a sincere approach towards the aged class people of their education possibility and hence the reality that at the sector of any uncertain age level. The so called section of people in our society can entail and enrich a far distant level of education possibility within our society. Hence such a sector has been provided with due guidance and lucid preparation that together with the very essence of our social requirements we are having the criteria of the aged people education and thereon an attempt with very eager sincerity has been given by our organizational management overall.
Non Formal Primary Education Program: DNKS believes that education is the key of development and backbone of the Nation. So DNKS is implementing education program (Children & Adult) for development of disadvantaged people especially for children through non-formal education and establishment of learning centers.
Health Program:
In Bangladesh, there are less health opportunities for mother and child. Children are in malnutrition with night blindness and anemia. The pregnant mothers are taking less food and suffering with ill nutrition, 75% of them are anemia patient. The newborn children are ill health with less weight. Their growth is stunted and merits are not well due to deficiency of Iodine, Minerals and nutrition. To overcome the present situation it has taken Mother & Child Health (MCH) Program in its working areas. It is mentionable here that DNKS has already completed health campaign on anti natal & post natal care.
Workshop/Seminar/Rally:
DNKS is implementing this program since its inception. GO and NGO officials, Local UP Chairmen, members, teachers, religious leaders are attended in these workshops. Electric and printing media people, group leaders, organized target peoples, Children are also participated there. Through these activities it has been trying to organize various Workshops/ Seminars and day observations like Health, Education, STD/AIDS, Environment, Human rights and other issues for the development of society.
Child Rights Program:
Today’s child is future of the Nation. DNKS has taken initiated the street children’s security with regards to shelter, education, skill development, physical and mental health. DNKS is implementing this program through various day observation, arrangement of seminar, non-formal education etc.
Gender & Women Development Program:
Half of the total population in Bangladesh is female. But women are not socially well permitted to go out of the family, participate in education and economic activities. They are the victims of social diseases like divorce, abandoned, husband separation, polygamy, dowry, early marriage and torturing. Moreover being a traditional segregated society, women are often denied to access to many opportunities. The endemic poverty, wide spread malnutrition, illiteracy and deprivation of socio-economic rights are common in the society. It has been implementing many programs on women rights and gender issues. Vulnerable, distress and victimized women are getting services like arbitration, legal aid, counseling from the organization free of cost.
Disabled Development Program:
DNKS works for the people of disability. The organization believes that disable people can participate in development activities if they get proper environment and training. So DNKS has taken initiative for disabled development. DNKS provide training support on IGA management and after completion the training the disable people receive credit support on different trade like small trade, candle making, rickshaw van purchase, fish culture, tailoring etc.
